Restoring mailboxes and individual message items from Exchange backups to a live
Exchange server is a time - consuming and expensive service IT administrators must
provide to their end users.
With Dell’s new EqualLogic Auto-Snapshot Manager integration for Exchange,
creating reliable copies of Exchange data such as snapshots, clones, and replicas
is simple and fast since it leverages the EqualLogic Smart Copy capabilities. The
PS Series Auto-Snapshot Manager with its sophisticated scheduling capabilities greatly
increases the ability of IT staff to respond to recovery or eDiscovery requests
by making a large number of Smart Copy snapshots immediately available. The need
to identify and locate a tape that contains the correct data and then to perform
a potentially time-consuming tape restoration can be minimized or eliminated.
While direct disk access to archival backups substantially shortens the recovery
cycle at the database level, the majority of discovery and recovery tasks are focused
at the mailbox, folder, and item level.
