Active Directory vs. Non-Active Directory Operation

Enterprise System Protector (ESP) supports both active directory (AD) and Non-Active Directory operation.

Although Non-Active Directory operation is supported, we highly recommend implementing active directory support, which offers extended functionality.

ESP Operation WITH Active Directory Support

• Faster and more accurate discovery and configuration

• More efficient discovery and configuration in Enterprise environments

• More up-to-date agent information

ESP Operation WITHOUT Active Directory Support

• Slower discovery and configuration

• No accessible agent information

• Automatic configuration server discovery not supported

• Security events generated in the security event log for workstations or servers cannot be accessed
