To effectively use DigiScope, the following system requirements apply:
To obtain automatic detection and direct access to any time frame within a DigiVault repository, you must have DigiVault version 1.6.5 or later installed.
DigiScope is designed to run on a Windows workstation and uses native Microsoft Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) to communicate with online Exchange Server, ensuring reliable and consistent operation of your server.
Outlook Version 2000 or later must be installed on the workstation/server that you will be operating DigiScope. (Outlook 2003 or better is required if an Exchange 2007 database or production server is being accessed)
Alternatively you may provide single time access to a machine with Outlook 2000 or greater installed.
If you must run both products simultaneously we suggest you use the "RunAs" command to run one of the programs under a different user account.
NOTE: Microsoft does not completely support concurrent user MAPI sessions between Outlook and similar products running on the same machine with the same logon credentials. While both product may be installed on the same machine without issue, it is highly recommended that users not attempt to run DigiScope and Outlook open at the same time.
The symptoms of running both products at the same time under the same user account may manifest repeated requests for security credential via a windows dialog, or inability to access one or more mailboxes from each product.
A compatible or the native application used to create an attachment type must be installed and operational in order to open any attachments found or extracted with DigiScope.
EXAMPLE:
A file type of ".XLS" would require Microsoft Excel.
A file type of ".PDF" would require Adobe Acrobat.

OFFLINE STORES
To work with offline Exchange stores, DigiScope requires that you have one-time access to an active Exchange server of the same version for initial setup.
PRODUCTION STORES
DigiScope can access online/production information stores for the following versions of Microsoft Exchange:
Microsoft Exchange 2000 with SP2 or greater (must be installed and operational)
OR
Microsoft Exchange 2003 (must be installed and operational)
OR
Microsoft Exchange 2007 (must be installed and operational)

Additional disk space will be needed for processing EDB, STM, and Log files
